About this property

Welcome to Hotel del Principado

Located in the Juárez neighborhood of Ciudad de México, Hotel del Principado offers straightforward accommodations with practical amenities including free Wi-Fi, free parking, and complimentary breakfast. The hotel features air-conditioned rooms, a restaurant with a bar, and services such as laundry, airport shuttle, and a business center. It maintains a smoke-free environment and welcomes both families and pets.

The property's appeal largely stems from its central location in a lively district known for its nightclubs, eclectic dining options including Korean cuisine, and the nearby gay-friendly Zona Rosa. According to guest feedback, the hotel provides a safe, clean, and convenient base ideal for visitors looking to explore the city rather than spend extended time indoors. It should be noted that the rooms offer ventilation but no air conditioning, which may impact comfort during warmer months.

Hotel del Principado is surrounded by several cultural landmarks such as the Museo Nacional de Antropología, Palacio de Bellas Artes, and Chapultepec Castle, all within easy reach. Guests frequently comment on the helpful and friendly staff and appreciate the reasonable rates for the location. Some mention the hotel's compact size, which contributes to a more personal atmosphere compared to larger city hotels.

While the accommodation is basic in style and amenities, the presence of a restaurant serving a breakfast buffet and an on-site massage therapist adds to its practical conveniences. The 4-star property is suited for travelers seeking an economical and centrally placed option, particularly those visiting for short stays or passing through Ciudad de México.

Awesome, close to everything, personal service not a huge hotel. And the best thing happened today, we had a tremor and I just ran out of that hotel, only 7 floors, thank GOD it wasn't one of those skyscrapers.

Awesome menu. Ask for the three step menu. You get appetizer, soup, maintenance and desert.

Great location, excellent service. Most staff know enough English to help an ignorant American. We stayed a week in March, very comfy, but note that it's NOT air conditioned, so summer stays may be hot. Good restaurant, the Breakfast buffet is well worth the extra $6 we spent (for two) a day.

I had low expectations with all thr negative reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. I booked on Expedia the night before arriving and they charged me exactly what the Expedia price was. Given the location, this is an excellent hotel for the price. Room was clean, and had good ventilation so it wasn't that hot. Check-out time was at 1pm and they stored my bags for me for a couple hours at the front desk. Overall, would definitely stay again if passing through Mexico for a couple nights and looking for an easy and cheap place to stay.

I love this hotel and I'm staying here, when I am in Mexico since twenty years. You can feel here save and at home. The breakfast and the service are fantastic. The rooms and Views are more or less but clean. So you really can't expect more for this fair prices. And you won't come to Mexico City to spend your time in your bedroom.

Stayed 5/20 to 5/24... Had a good experience . Staff was extremely warm and friendly, Service was excellent. bought the breakfast included room package with buffet. Buffet had ample amount of food. hot and cold with freshly squeezed orange juice. One morning I was in the mood for an omelette and they made for me with no hassle. The only complaint I have is that this hotel does not have air conditioning in the rooms but they provide fans which worked very well. However there are no screens in the windows so i had some mosquito issues during my stay. I got bitten quite lot which made for a somewhat weary stay over the next few nights. if they are going to have opened windows they should have them screened to keep the pests out. Other wise , i enjoyed my stay. Miguel , Bryan and the rest of the staff are GREAT!!

I used their hourly service to stay for 3 hours as I arrived really early from the airport after a long trip. Both reception and cleaning ladies were very friendly and fast to act. The only negative: there was no heating in the room and it is freezing cold in Mex City during winter :///

I stayed here in January 2017. I loved it and am planning to stay there for three weeks while I prepare to emigrate to Mexico City. The rooms are very spartan. If I wanted plush, I'd stay home. The manager, desk clerks, waiters and housekeeping where great - professional, pleasant and helpful. 99% of the guests while I was there were Mexican businessmen or tourists from other parts of Mexico. I don't want to stay in an American chain hotel and eat prime rib with people like me. The breakfast was delicious. I could, and did, eat black beans and rice at every meal. The location, internet, cable TV etc were fine. They arranged for me to take tours to various places that picked me up at the door. I could walk most places. Food vendors in front had a dizzying array of tasty choices. I booked through American Airlines. Great value for the money. I can't wait to go back.
